Itinerary
Day: 1
Nairobi - masai mara
You will be picked from your hotel or jomo kenyatta international airport (nbo) by seremara safaris driver guide who will transfer you to wilson airport (wil) for a 45-minute flight over the rift valley to olkiombo airstrip. Upon landing in the mara, you will be met by basecamps guide who will transfer you to the camp. Hop on one of the tailor-made 4×4 safari land cruisers for a safari game drive en-route to basecamp masai mara. Maasai mara game reserve is one of the most well-known parks in africa.
Almost all the iconic wildlife animals can be viewed here. This is also where the famous wildebeest and zebra migration from serengeti to masai mara takes place between july and october. Along the way, you will have your first encounter with the wildlife masai mara has to offer. Look out for the big five which includes a lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino.
You will arrive at basecamp for lunch. Set on the bank of the talek river, basecamp masai mara location is spectacular, with the great mara plains surrounding the camp and the river in front of each tent. After lunch, you will settle into your tents. Later in the afternoon, you will join your masai guide for a camp walk along the talek river path. Your guide will show you some of the operational elements that have made basecamp one of the leading pioneers in the responsible tourism industry.
At around 16:00, stroll across the private suspension bridge to meet your maasai guide for your afternoon safari game drive. While you venture out you have a chance to see many animals and beautiful landscape of masai mara. As the sun sets, you will enjoy a classic basecamp sundowner under an acacia tree before returning to the lodge for dinner. As you rest around the fireplace, listen to your masai guide tell stories about their culture as you reflect on the experiences of the day
Day: 2
masai mara - nairobi
Wake up early for a cup of coffee followed by a morning safari game drive. Enjoy the fresh breeze at the break of dawn and marvel as the bush comes to life in the early morning hours. Throughout the year, masai mara is a place of natural drama, colour and life. Enjoy watching masai mara wildlife as well as a variety of birds in their natural habitat. See the wildebeest in their thousands, the beautiful zebras, and the graceful giraffes. After breakfast, pack your personal belongings, bid your maasai host goodbye and check out to transfer to the airstrip with a game drive en-route. Arrive in nairobi in the early afternoon for your international flight connection or back to your hotel marking the end of your kenyan holiday with seremara safaris.
Alternatively,wake at dawn for a final morning game drive. Witness how the savannah springs to life as the sun rises. Enjoy a picnic breakfast overlooking the mara plains before returning to basecamp masai mara. After lunch, gather your things and say your goodbyes. Reach olkiombo airstrip in time for your scheduled 4pm flight, the perfect departure time for international connections or for continuing your african adventure. Upon arrival in, nairobi, our driver will pick you up and transfer you to jkia or your hotel in nairobi
