Itinerary
Day: 1
Drive to transfer from kampala to kibale national park
At 6 am, our guide will pick you up from your hotel in kampala, to drive and transfer to kibale national park. Located in fortportal kibale national park is known to be a primates lovers paradise with over 13 different species of primates. The park is just 5 hours away from the capital city of uganda -kampala and thus you will make it in time for lunch. Have lunch and then later transfer to the park headquarters for briefing. After briefing in groups of 8 people, you will walk along the different trails searching for these apes. On meeting them you will be allowed to spend 1 hour following them as they feed, play and if you are lucky you might watch them hunt. The time taken for the entire round trip ranges between 2 hours and 4 hours, depending on the movement of the chimpanzees
Day: 2
kibale national park- bwindi national park
Today you will embark on the 6 to 7 hours drive to bwindi. The drive will take you through a number of communities and cities along the way. If you wish to stop for a break, the guide driver is very much willing to stop. There is an option of visiting queen elizabeth park en-route as you transfer to bwindi. This gives you an opportunity to watch tree climbing lions in the ishasha sector. If you are interested in adding this to the itinerary. Kindly mention it. Arrive the park in the afternoon, and relax as you prepare for for the trek the next day
Day: 3
gorila trekking safari and tour
The long awaited day starts as early at 6:30 with breakfast, and then you transfer to the park headquarters for briefing. During briefing you will be advise about the gorilla family you are to trek and then through the forest along the different trails, you will start the search for the gorillas. Once you meet the gorillas, you are allowed to spend 1 hour following them and taking pictures and then later return to the park headquarters. The trekking time ranges between 2 to 7 hours, depending on the movement of the gorillas. Please always have it at the back of your mind, that during a gorilla tour, you get to meet gorillas in their natural habitat and thus they are always on the move in search for food
Day: 4
drive back to kampala / fly back to kampala
Have your breakfast, and then drive back to kampala. On the way to kampala, you can visit the mpabire drum makers, and the equator to take photos at the centre of the earth. The drive to kampala takes 7 to 8 hours arriving in the evening. If you have a return flight later this afternoon we recommend that you fly back to kampala using the scheduled flights available once a day
