Itinerary
Day: 1
Pick up
Be picked at kasese airfield and be transferred to kibale national park, lunch then overnight at ndali lodge. Ndali lodge is a gem of a lodge. Sitting atop a crater lake and commanding magnificent views, its location, amenities and interior decor is a joy to behold. Ndali lodge offers 8 en suite stone and thatch cottages which are all suitable for families. With an emphasis on using local materials the interiors are imaginatively and comfortably furnished. Each cottage consists of a bath, shower, wc and hand basin and a private verandah, perfect for watching the sun setting behind the rwenzori mountains, the snow-capped peaks of which are clearly visible on a clear day.
The main thatched lodge consists of a spacious sitting room, reception area and dining room which at night is festooned with candles - the lodge has no electricity or generators to destroy the tranquillity and atmosphere. There is however solar lights in the cottages.
Day: 2
chimpanzee trekking
Breakfast and go to the park headquarters at 8:00am. Get the introduction from the park warden and join a group and begin your adventure to meet our closest relatives the "chimpanzees". You might come across some primates like black and white colobus, grey cheeked mangabeys, birds, butterfly among others. Later tour bigodi wetland sanctuary.
Located in magombe sanctuary, it is a community run tourism project. It commands an extensive array of biodiversity among which are several primates species like the red colobus monkey, baboon, black & white colobus monkey, blue monkey grey cheeked, mangabey, vervet monkey, red tailed monkey and the l""hoest monkey. Additional mammals such as chimpanzees, sitatunga, mongooses, bush pigs, otters plus bush bucks, also visit this swamp coming from the adjacent kibale national park.
Day: 3
kasese airfield transfer
Breakfast and the be driven to kasese airfield and then fly to kihihi where you will be met by bujo safari""s representative for the hotel transfer to silverback lodge. The bwindi impenetrable national park is a biodiverse, mountainous area in southwest uganda. It`s home to many of the world""s remaining mountain gorillas, who feed on roots, leaves and fruits from the park""s many tree and fern species. Restricted numbers of viewing permits help protect the endangered gorilla families. In the park, rough paths weave amid dense forests, which are home to many butterflies and birds.
Day: 4
mountain gorilla trekking
An early start as we head for the highlight of this tour. We shall head to bwindi impenetrable forest national park. It is the richest forest in uganda in terms of number of plant species. Also home to half of the population of the critically endangeredmountain gorillas in the world and was gazetted in 1991. We shall do briefing at the park headquarters and then beginning thetrekking expedition. The beauty of the forest is breathtaking with the steeply forested landscapes. Tracking these incredible primates varies according to the their movement. Once sighted you will be allowed an hour with them. Bear in mind few people leave without being amazed by these gentle giants. After gorilla trekking we shall then drive to kisoro at the beautiful lake mutanda for overnight.
Day: 5
golden monkey trekking
Breakfast and then we head to the head quarters of mgahinga gorilla national park for golden monkey trekking. Golden monkeys are named after their golden-orange fur, and like mountain gorillas, are also considered endangered species. Conservation efforts have been put in place by the uganda wildlife authority to ensure that the monkeys are protected "" especially from poachers.
Day: 6
departure
Leisurely breakfast and then be driven to nyakabande air field for the flight back home.
