Then surely you will be fascinated by the concentration of hippos and the nile crocodiles here. For birders, murchison falls boasts 450 bird species including the elusive shoebill stork, dwarf king fisher, the white-thigh hornbill, and the goliath heron among others.

Day: 2
murchison noctumal game drive and nile river wildlife boat cruise
Have breakfast very early as you prepare for the boat ride, the highlight you cant miss. Almost a scene out of a national geographic special on tv, only better because you are there seeing hippos frolic in the water (they do not swim but bounce off the bottom of river or lake), nile crocodiles mouths wide open sunning themselves along the banks, elephant herds coming to bathe, buffaloes, antelope species and many water birds, one cannot imagine the scenic shoreline you will see on a boat safari up the river.
This is also one of the highlights that are not to be missed. On nocturnal game drive you can see the predators of the night out on the prowl such as lions, leopards, hyenas, and several cats. It is about two hours in length and it takes place at dusk or after darkness has set in. This is something we suggest not to miss. You might have a hard time taking pictures but the pictures and images in your mind. Spotlights are used for the night game drives in murchison falls park

If you ever thought of being in the real wild alone, then kidepo is the perfect place to go. Kidepo valley np is uganda""s most pristine, unexplored game reserve teaming with abundance of wildlife. While here, you get the true meaning of being in the african jungle. It is also in kidepo valley that you will have the opportunity to get the insight about the karamojong nomadic pastoralist of uganda.
You will have breakfast at the accommodation and then hit the road for kidepo. This will be a long drive but you will be treated with some spectacular scenery along the drive that will make the drive even seem shorter. You will reach and do little but check into your accommodation, relax, enjoy your dinner plus the overnight rest

kidepo valley game drive and community visit
Have breakfast then set off to explore the park. You will go for game sighting in the narus valley in the south of the park. This is the section of kidepo that has savannah grasslands mixed with acacia woodland. It is also the area with permanent water sources throughout the year and for that matter most of the animals are found in this part of the park. During the hot afternoons, many animals collect around water sources. Expect to see large herds of buffaloes, lots of zebras, and antelope species and surely the lions.
Later, undertake a community visit where you will interact with the local people "" the karamojong. This tribe is the main local community inhabiting the karamoja region and neighboring the park. They are some of the most remote people in uganda who have not embraced modernization. Visit to enjoy their unique cultures, traditional houses called manyatta, their setting of homesteads, traditional dances, traditional handcraft stools, spears, hand bungles from beads
Day: 5

Hiking may be conducted on lamoj mountains only a couple of kilometers from the headquarters of the park. From the kidepo valley, also you can visit kanangorok hot springs that are situated just 11 km from the kidepo river valley.
The mountain as well as the savannah landscape of this park is breathtaking. The narus valley is found within the south west part of this park; the rocky napore nyagia mountain range actually forms the western boundary. You will visit the stunning natira plus lokayot hills.
The park is renowned for its exceptional variety of birds. Out of the fifty eight recorded birds of prey, fourteen are thought to be specifically endemic to the kidepo as well as the karamoja region.
