Itinerary
Day: 1
Transfer to kibale national park
At 7 am our guide will pick you up from your hotel in kampala to drive and transfer to kibale forest national park in fortportal. The drive will take 6 hours arriving in the afternoon. You will have lunch and then go visit the ndali craters lakes region. Return to your hotel for dinner.
Day: 2
chimpanzee tracking and nature walk in bigodi wetland
This morning after breakfasts, you will transfer to kanyachu the park headquarters for briefing and then in groups of 8 you will walk along the different trails searching for chimpanzees. The walk through the forest is informative providing you with information about fauna and flora. Trekking time ranges between 2 to 4 hours and once you meet the chimpanzees you will be allowed to spend one hour following them and taking pictures. You will then return to the starting point to meet the guide, who will take you to have lunch. After lunch you will go for a nature walk in bigodi wetland. This wetland is a bird watchers paradise a it has plenty of birds and also plenty of monkeys.
Day: 3
transfer to queen elizabeth np
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to transfer to queen elizabeth national. The drive will take 3 to 4 hours arriving in the afternoon. Have lunch and relax at the lodge. Watch out for animals around the lodge such as antelopes, warthogs and many more
Day: 4
game drive and boat ride on kazinga channel
In the morning you will go for a game drive in the park searching for wild animals. The drive through the park will reward you with animals like the hyenas, lions, buffaloes, elephants and many more. In the afternoon you will go for a boat cruise on the kazinga channel that connects lakes george and kyoga. Watch out for hippos and crocodiles at the shores, plus plenty of birds.
Day: 5
transfer to bwindi through ishasha sector
In the morning after breakfast, we will head to ishasha sector for a game drive. Watch out for tree climbing lions and elephants in this section. Of course you might also spot hyenas in the area. Later after the drive you will drive to head to bwindi. The driving time ranges between 6 to 7 hours check into your hotel and relax as you prepare for your the gorilla trek the next day.
Day: 6
gorilla tracking safari
Have breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for briefing you. After briefing you will be driven to the starting point and you will meet your guide who will lead you through the forest in search for the gorilla. Gorilla trekking takes 2 to 8 hours depending on the gorilla family you are tracking. Once you meet the gorillas you are allowed to spend one hour following them and then later return to the starting point
Day: 7
transfer back to kampala
In the morning after breakfast, drive to transfer back to kampala. On the way you will visit the equator and the mpigi drum and craft makers.
