Itinerary
Day: 1
Game viewing in tarangire national park
Pick up from your hotel in arusha at 09:00am, drive with picnic lunch to tarangire national park for a full day game drive.
Tarangire national park covers 2,600 square kilometers and at dry times, the concentration of animals rivals that of the much better known serengeti the game numbers are staggering: e.G. 30,000 zebras, 25,000 wildebeests, 5,000 buffaloes, 3,000 elephants, 2,500 maasai giraffes and over 1,000 fringe-eared oryxs (gemsbok), predators include lions, cheetah and leopards.
Also flocks of birds: e.G. Green wood hoopoes, fisher lovebirds, white bellied go-away birds and giant kingfishers. Dinner and overnight at jambo campsite.
Day: 2
Ngorongoro crater- game viewing
Early at 6.00am have a cup of coffee and drive to maasai boma where you will experience the rhythm of this nomadic tribes daily life. Subject to the season, witness the livestock movement in the early morning before meeting the elders, moran warriors and women and children with full explanations into the status and ranking within the families as well as their traditions and beliefs.
Drive back to the camp at 08:00am for breakfast.
After breakfast drive to ngorongoro, descend 610 meters into ngorongoro crater floor for 6 hours game viewing with picnic lunch. Spot the endangered black rhinos, lions, elephants, zebras, buffaloes and wildebeest and other wild animals.
Also in ngorongoro crater soda lake you will see many species of birds including flamingos. All these animals in turn support large predators such as lions and leopards, and scavengers such as hyenas and jackals.
Day: 3
Trek at northern ngorongoro crater rim – leiyanai area
Early after breakfast drive one kilometer with picnic lunch boxes from simba campsite to the starting point at northern of the rim of ngorongoro and start walking through acacia forest accompanied with maasai warrior, donkeys( to carry your luggage) and armed ranger, have a nice view of ngorongoro crater.
Walk 17km through acacia forest on the rim of ngorongoro and see so many birds and wild animals such as giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, bush-back and different species.
Day: 4
Trek northern of ngorongoro crater rim-leinai to ilkiepusi
Early after breakfast, proceed walking 17 klm with picnic lunch boxes accompanied with maasai warrior, donkeys and armed ranger on the crater rim from leianai to ilkiepusi 5-6 hours cross acacia forest and view crater from the top of rim.
You will see many wild animals such as buffaloes, zebras, wildebeest, elephants, giraffes, birds etc.
Dinner and overnight at ilkiepusi bush camp.
Day: 5
Game viewing en route to serengeti national park
After breakfast, walk about half kilometer, and our car will pick you and have a full day game drive en route with picnic lunch to serengeti plains where you will see so many wild animals -lions, zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, buffaloes and so many wilds animals and birds via small but very interesting dr. Leakey museum at olduvai gorge.
Day: 6
Game viewing in serengeti national park
Early in the morning at 05:30am have a cup of coffee proceed for sunrise game drive in serengeti, drive back to the camp for breakfast at 08:00am,
After breakfast proceed for full day game viewing with picnic lunch in serengeti plains, home to a huge variety of animals and birds, search among the trees and kopjes for the elusive leopards and cheetah as well as wildebeest migration.
After sunset game drive, drive back to seronera campsite for dinner and overnight.
Day: 7
Serengeti national park to mto wa mbu
Early after breakfast, have a full day game drive with picnic lunch en route, cross ngorongoro conservation area where you will see many wild animals to mto wa mbu small town, where you can find a super market for shopping.
Day: 8
Lake manyara national park-game viewing
After breakfast, have a full day game drive with picnic lunch in lake manyara park, home to giant fig trees, acacia woodlands, mahogany trees and grassy flood plains. The contrasts of this area are simply breathtaking, with the open plains, huge escarpment, soda lake, dense woodlands, and distance volcanic peaks.
Animals such as elephants, hippos, impalas, giraffe, warthog, wildebeest, blue monkeys and buffaloes can be seen.
This park is also home to the famous tree climbing lions and leopards.
Lake manyara national park provides the perfect introduction to tanzanias birds life with over 400 species having been recorded within the parks boundaries. Highlights include pink-hued flamingos, herons, storks and pelicans.
Late evening drive back to arusha.
