Day: 1
Transfer from kigali, rwanda to bwindi national park
Our representative will pick you up in kigali and drive to bwindi national park. The drive to uganda will go through rwanda`s northern town of ruhengeri. You will then cross over into uganda via cyanika or katuna border post. The trip continues through the nearby kisoro or kabale town and finally to bwindi national park. The journey from kigali to bwindi national park will take approximately 4-5 hrs. Arriving at bwindi national park early afternoon will allow you to do optional activities such as hiking, visiting the batwa community, coffee-making experience, etc. Overnight options: rushaga gorilla camp/ichumbi gorilla lodge/bakiga lodge (midrange/comfortable)
Day: 2
gorilla trekking at bwindi national park
You will head to the bwindi national park gate immediately after breakfast to get a briefing about the gorilla trek. The national park guide will conduct the presentation that covers the basics of what to expect during the gorilla trek. The national guide will assign the gorilla trekking group during the pre-trekking briefing. Other visitors will likely join you. The gorilla trek can take from few to many hours, depending on how far the gorillas are inside the forest. Note: depending on the availability of gorilla trekking permits, we might suggest trekking the gorillas at mgahinga gorilla national park. Overnight options: rushaga gorilla camp/ichumbi gorilla lodge/bakiga lodge (midrange/comfortable)
Day: 3
transfer to queen elizabeth national park via ishasha sector for tree climbing lions
We will start the journey in the morning from bwindi national park and drive to queen elizabeth national park. The tour will take you through the stunning landscapes of western uganda. You will arrive at queen elizabeth national park in the late afternoon.
Ishasha sector for tree climbing lions on the way from bwindi national park, we will drive through the ishasha sector of queen elizabeth national park, popularly known for the tree-climbing lions. Unlike their counterparts at the kasenyi plains, the lions at ishasha have found a way to climb the fig trees in to enjoy the warm temperatures available in the park. While the sighting of the tree-climbing lions is not 100% guaranteed, a stopover at ishasha is worth a visit!
Kazinga channel boat cruise if time allows, join the kazinga channel boat cruise for an afternoon of wild game viewing. You will spot crocodiles, buffaloes, elephants, and a wide range of bird species on the channel waters. Overnight options: the bush lodge or buffalo safari lodge (midrange/comfortable)
Day: 4
chimpanzee trekking at kalinzu forest reserve
After early morning breakfast, we will drive to the kalinzu forest to experience trekking the chimpanzees in their forest home. If you are lucky on the trek, you might encounter other different species of monkeys in kalinzu forest. These include colobus monkey, olive baboon, and red-tailed monkey. Transfer to kampala/entebbe after the chimp trek. It is also possible to drive to kigali, rwanda after the chimpanzee trek at kalinzu forest
