Itinerary
Day: 1
Airport pick up & transfer to lake bunyonyi
Pick up from kigali international airport in rwanda and 2 hour road transfer through katuna boarder to lake bunyonyi in uganda. Check into bunyonyi safaris resort, and depending on your arrival time, you may spend the rest of the day at leisure enjoying the lakeside property or using the resort facilities such as swimming pool, steam & sauna, gym, garden bar and hilltop sports grounds
Day: 2
virunga mountain hike
After an early breakfast, set off to mgahinga national park, that features an ancient forest and the virunga volcanic mountain range, where you will spend the day hiking up one of the 3 dormant volcanoes. Depending on your fitness level, you have the option of climbing:
1) mt. Muhabura (4,127 meters) - located on the border between rwanda & uganda, and a great challenge for those who want a difficult hike.
2) mt. Sabinyo (3,645 meters) - situated between rwanda, uganda and congo, at the summit you get to stand in 3 countries at once. The oldest extinct volcano in the range, this is a scenic intermediate hike.
3) mt. Gahinga (3,474 meters) - situated between rwanda and uganda, this is the shortest mountain with views of the other peaks muhabura and sabinyo, making it a great option for those who prefer an easier hike.
Descend the mountain in the evening and transfer back to bunyonyi safaris resort for dinner and overnight stay.
Day: 3
leisure day at lake bunyonyi
Spend the morning at leisure, enjoying the resort facilities.
After lunch, set off mid morning for a 2 hour boat tour of one of africas deepest crater lakes. You will get to visit several islands and learn about their history and cultural significance, as well as take a short nature walk on one of the islands to view animals such as zebra and antelope and stopover at another island to zip line across the lake! return to your hotel and spend the rest of the evening at leisure, with a warm campfire to end the day

airport transfer to kigali for departure flight
Checkout after breakfast, and depending on your flight schedule, transfer to the nearest airport, for your departure flight
