Itinerary
Day: 1
Transport from airport to the hotel
On arrival at entebbe international airport, you will find our company representative who will welcome and cheer you and transfer you to your hotel, at cassia lodge in kampala, where you will have to relax and prepare for the next days` activities of your vacation
Day: 2
kampala - nakayima tree - karambi tombs - tooro royal palace
Enjoy an early full buffet breakfast and depart to mubende where nakayima tree is found, a tree which is reported to be over 600 years old, with rich heritage and deep cultural connotations and worship activities. Have lunch in fort portal town and proceed to karambi tombs and thereafter to the royal palace in toro kingdom for traditional narrations by the natives. Diner and overnight at mountain of the moon hotel.
Day: 3
amabere ga nyina mwiru caves - crater lakes - kibale national park
Have your breakfast and head to fort portal where you will have a tour to amabere ga nyina mwiru, a site of limestone rocks with amazing cultural connotations. It is believed and legends have it that a proud beautiful young lady called nyina mwiru, who was a daughter to the head of the then dynasty, refused to marry a man whom the father had selected for her and because of her defiance, her breasts were cut off and thrown into these caves, and the breasts are believed to have grown into the beautiful rocks in these caves and the white fluids which drop from the rocks is believed to be the milk from her breasts. Here you get amazed as you encounter the collision between traditional interpretation of nature and science. After, you will visit the crater lakes and have a glimpse of the mountains of the moon as fort portal lies in its shades and proceed to kibale park. Check in your lodge and have lunch. In the afternoon, have a nature walk around or relax at primate lodge.
Day: 4
kibale chimpanzee tracking - queen elizabeth national park
Have an early morning breakfast and head to kibale national park for chimpanzee tracking. The park harbours the greatest variety of primates especially baboons and chimpanzees and also protects a large flock of rain forest birds, that has earned it the title of the primate capital of the world. Forest walks and primate viewing will be carried out, expect to view different tree species and hundreds of birds. Have lunch and relax at the lodge. Later check out and proceed to queen elizabeth national park. Dinner and overnight at park view safari lodge
Day: 5
african safari game drive and boat cruise in kazinga channel of queen
Start your day with the excitement of a game drive in queen elizabeth national park. This park with its diverse eco-systems of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers and swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to incredible abundance of wildlife. Lions, leopards, elephants, cape buffalos, forest hogs, uganda kobs, giant forest hogs, bush bucks, water bucks, has a medley of wonders one needs to physically witness.
In the afternoon enjoy a boat trip along the kazinga channel, birds and lots of wildlife comes along the channel to drink water and you will enjoy a "conference of birds" if lucky. Dinner and night sleep at park view lodge.
Day: 6
igongo cultural centre, equator and return to kampala via mbarara
Have an early morning breakfast at the lodge and start your return leg to kampala, with a stop in mbarara for a tour of the igongo museum, which highlights to you the lifestyle of ugandans from the western part of the country. Lunch stop will be made at igongo cultural centre and also make a stopover at the equator, to have a feel of being at 0 latitude with neither belonging to southern or northern hemisphere, visit the craft shop for souvenirs from the pearl of africa and after continue with the journey to kampala at cassia lodge.
Day: 7
reserved for departure
This day is reserved for your return flight and marks the end of your safari. You will be dropped at entebbe airport. Please note that the the quoted price includes the following: accommodation, park entrance fees, ground transport with 4x4 wheel drive tourist vehicles with internet access on board that makes you stay connected to family and friends, binoculars for field guidance, fuel, guide fees, chimpanzee permits, meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner), mineral drinking water and all activities in the park plus associated government taxes.
