Day: 1

Arrival at jro and meet with our staff who will take you at the hotel at arusha or moshi for overnight ( bed & breakfast)
Day: 2
Marangu gate 1843m/6046ft marangu hut 2,700m/8858ft
Marangu gate
Starting off from moshi we arrive at marangu gate for the necessary paperwork before setting off on the trek. The trail ascends into the impressive rainforests with glimpses of blue monkeys at the upper edge of the forest line. The trail then opens to expose beautiful hillsides until we reach mandara hut.
Day: 3

Marangu hut
The day begins by traversing through the forests until entering the scenic heather moorlands and the lower reaches of the alpine deserts. Continuing a little ahead if the weather holds up good, you will get your first glimpses of the kibo and mawenzi peaks two of the three volcanic peaks that make up the summit of kilimanjaro.
Day: 4
Horombo hut 3721m/12,205ft mawenzi ridge
This day is dedicated for acclimatization and you can spend the day hiking around to explore the unique landscape and also catch glimpses of the twin peaks of kibo and mawenzi.

Horombo hut 3721m/12,205ft kibo hut 4,704m/15,430ft
Kibo hut
Today you will hike across the saddle between mawenzi and kibo en route to the kibo hut that sits at the bottom of the kibo crater wall. Once you reach the camp you will rest and enjoy a sumptuous dinner and ready yourself for the summit hike the next day.
Day: 6

Uhuru peak
The push to the summit begins at midnight. Ensure that you are well hydrated and fed as this is going to be a serious challenge with extreme cold and winds further compounding the already arduous trek. The final ascent to the top continues in darkness for several hours with the help of headlamps with frequent short breaks giving some breathing time. After a steep uphill climb, you will reach gilmans point (18,600 ft), and enjoy the beautiful sunrise over mawenzi peak. From gilmans point, its an hours climb to the highest point on mount kilimanjaro and the continent of africa.
After basking for a few moments in the glory of your accomplishment you will descend to horombo hut. Later in the evening, we enjoy our last dinner on the mountain and have a well-deserved sleep.
Day: 7
Horombo hut 3721m/12,205ft marangu gate 1843m/6046ft
Marangu gate
Today is the last day and you will have a steady long descent through the tropical rainforest. Use the trekking poles to support your creaky knees and back as the long trek comes at the end of a challenging trek to the top. Once you reach the park headquarters at marangu gate, you will be presented with your summit certificates. From there a vehicle will drive you back to the hotel in moshi or arusha.
